The radiation was too strong and people died. They decide to equip a third expedition, which will send more adapted children and one adult. Perhaps they will have a chance of salvation.

And no matter how great its speed, no matter how negligible the resistance of the cosmic vacuum to a giant bullet, the flight path of which connects the Earth and the Cygnus alpha, already indistinguishable even in the most powerful telescope, the path will take a total of one hundred and nineteen Earth years.
One hundred and six years have passed on Earth since the day seventy-six cosmonauts, in last time looking at the blue sky, at the fluff of clouds and green trees, they entered the planetary boats, and they soared up, where at an altitude of one and a half thousand kilometers, in a constant orbit, Antey was waiting for them.
When they flew in, they could look around this house from afar. To some, the spaceship looked like a clumsy insect, to others it looked like a broken children's toy. Antaeus will never have to descend to Earth or to another planet. He was destined to be born in space, where he was collected, and die there. Therefore, the designers created it without regard to the resistance of the environment. To an unfamiliar eye, it seemed an illogical combination of rings, pipes, balls, antennas and cubes.
While the ship was picking up speed - and it took months to accelerate - the crew of the Anthea could see the Earth. At first it occupied half of the sky, but gradually it turned into a fading point among millions of similar and brighter points ...
So the journey began. One hundred and six years have passed.
In another thirteen years, "Antey" will reach its goal.

Pavlysh passed the twenty-fourth reserve corridor and stopped in front of the door to the greenhouse. The greenhouse was abandoned fifty years ago, and, except for the mechanics, no one came here.
The door did not move immediately. As if its mechanism had forgotten how to open.
When Stanzo talked about the abandoned greenhouse, Pavlysh imagined that he would see a lush jungle, thickets of vines and strange flowers hanging from the crowns.
The greenhouse was a secret, a discovery. The journey to her - more than an hour's walk through the empty corridors and halls of the ship - prepared for a secret.
The path turned out to be ordinary.
Somewhere halfway, he met a cleaning robot, and in the "D" balloon he got into the area of used warehouses - they were dimly lit, empty boxes and containers were piled up in echoing halls.
Desolation reigned here. The paint on the walls, theoretically eternal, has faded, and the sheets of plastic sheathing have fallen behind in some places. It smelled of warm dust.
Pavlysh could not get rid of the feeling that emptiness was watching him. That she has eyes.
The ship was inhabited by memory.
He was the oldest ship on Earth. He was over a century old.
Over the years, new alloys and light sources have been invented on Earth, even boxes and containers would have been different if Antey had set off a hundred years later. Everything would be different.
The ship was not decrepit, but very old. It was designed to be in space for many decades. And still got old.
And gradually it became empty.
One by one, his warehouses were emptied, the distant premises and corridors were closed - there was no longer any need for them. On the day when Pavlysh went to look for the abandoned greenhouse, there were twice less people than one hundred and six years ago. The living, active part of the ship shrank every year. Thus, a deserted village is besieged by a forest, occupying already unnecessary fields and mows.
Pavlysh opened the door to the greenhouse and was disappointed, because there was no violent jungle there.

Among the dried stems are thorny bushes. Brown grass at the feet, whips of degenerated peas crawling along the walls, in some places flasks and test tubes remained on dusty laboratory tables - many years ago someone put experiments here. Now there is enough greenhouse in the ball "B".
The stems rustled and shuddered.
Something gray darted towards the far end of the greenhouse. Pavlysh drew back. There could be no one on the ship. No one more.
He jumped out the door and pressed the button. First you need to isolate the room. Then call for help. Anything that is unknown is incomprehensible - it can be dangerous. Not only for Pavlysh - for the whole ship.
The door slid shut reluctantly. Pavlysh stood alone in a very quiet corridor. The ceiling glowed steadily.
He was on a ship where nothing could enter from outside.

Pavlysh understood that even here he was not expected to be opened, but still spent a few minutes reading the inscriptions on the cassettes.

When Pavlysh was not yet in the world, a meteorite landed in the Outer Garden "Anthea". This happens with ships. Even though the best minds of the Earth thought about the Antaeus meteorite protection — not a single crumb of matter should have touched the ship: the price was too high — nevertheless, sixty years ago, Antey fell into a powerful meteor shower. So powerful that one of the stones reached the ship.
The fantastic novel "Village" by Bulychev speaks of hope, which helps to survive even in conditions of unearthly aggression. This hope helps to remain human, not to lose human face even to those who were not born on Earth.
The novel begins with sketches of life in this very village. At first glance - in the most ordinary, albeit poor and abandoned. However, you gradually realize that the action takes place in the future, even on another planet. The earth, I would like to believe, will not become like this: aggression is poured out simply in everything. For example, in the forest people are attacked by vines, mushrooms burrow from the "hunters" into the ground, tumbleweeds become a terrible poisonous weapon, trees shrink under dense bark ... What to say about animals? The attack of the "wolves" is akin to a natural disaster, although these poisonous creatures fight one by one, while their other companions are watching, as if at a show.
The inhabitants of the village are also very "wild", although, in case of danger, the community stands up for everyone. But here the conflict of generations is at its peak: the elders are telling "fairy tales" about the Earth, the young are more reminiscent of Mowgli. Old tells them about life "there", it is too hard for the rest of the earthlings to remember - women, for example, immediately start crying.
Of course, we can talk about some kind of degradation of the descendants of earthlings in this aggressive environment. It turns out that a spaceship once crashed on this inhospitable planet. But people, even after so many years, are trying to get to him, dreaming of the Earth.
A team of young people is being formed (Maryana, Dik, Oleg, Thomas), who decide to reach the wreckage of the ship, which no one has yet succeeded in hot-air balloon... This was the third attempt to return to Earth, because, it is clear that on this aggressive planet, a small group of earthlings (there are almost forty of them, along with the children born here) have no future. The main character of the novel is Oleg, a somewhat morose fifteen-year-old boy who is in love with Maryana, but he is not as strong and daring as the hero Dick.
Here astronauts land on their planet, who must destroy the traces of the crashed ship in order to erase the traces of earthlings on the "wild" planet. In the final, two expeditions (earthlings and "natives") meet. The finale remains open - everything ends with a shout of either joy or horror.
Of course, I want to believe that all the efforts and suffering of the lost earthlings were not in vain.

For the next seventeen years of their existence, earthlings tried to survive and develop a new area. The struggle for life was not successful for everyone, but where one generation died, another was born. Many children no longer believed that the Earth was not a fiction or a fairy tale. Others tried to help and risked own life to prove otherwise.
In the book "Village" Kir Bulychev tells the story of striving for life in the difficult conditions of boundless space. About how a group of young people is entering the battle for the fate of all who have been on an alien planet for a long time.
