International Festival of Circus Art. International festival of circus art International youth festival competition of circus art

The 14th International Youth Festival-Competition summed up the results of the 14th International Youth Festival-Competition at the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard circus art... It was attended by artists from 17 countries. Both professionals and amateurs are allowed to compete. The show is one of the five best international competitions.

The last minutes before going out to the arena. This festival is not the first for trapeze artists from France. We have already performed in Germany and Canada, but this excitement is no less. They admit that the Russian public is special.

“For example, in Canada people are shouting very loudly and applauding all the time, but in Russia it's the other way around. The audience is watching with bated breath throughout the entire performance, we feel how they are worried about us, but when the performance ends, we get a full ovation, "- comments the participant of the festival Morgan Tisserand.

And now, instead of a small dressing room, there is one of the oldest arenas in Russia. Under the dome of the circus, without insurance, the artists prove the limitlessness of human capabilities. In a few hours they will receive the Silver Elephant. In the meantime - a grandiose gala show as the final chord in the celebration of dexterity and artistry.

“This gala show is those ideal, matched numbers from two programs. From the emotions that take place in the hall, it is clear that the show is like, - said main director festival, laureate of the Moscow Government Prize Oksana Druzhinina. “The most important thing is that the artists are satisfied, happy - the hall is getting up, the hall is full”.

It can take an artist several years to perfect one trick. Here, at the festival, they only have a couple of minutes to make the viewer believe in a miracle. The most convincing - the owners of the Golden Elephant statuette - were three at once: Russian trainer Gia Eradze with an attraction with lions and tigers, acrobats from Sweden and equilibrists from China. The five girls, balancing on unicycle and cleverly throwing their cymbals skyward, seemed to have won the victory just as easily.

“We have already received prizes for this performance in China, but it is a great pride to win the approval of the jury and the audience here at the festival in Moscow. We worked hard and are very happy, "admitted the members of the" Equilibrists on unicycle "collective.

A special award has been prepared for young artists - "Golden Elephant". The best were acrobats from Nizhny Tagil, equilibrist Anastasia Trushina, who already works in the Circus on Vernadsky Street, and gymnast Mariyam Rzayeva from Pavlovsky Posad. For these guys, the Moscow arena became a chance to declare themselves, which they did not miss.

“The idea, the main task of the festival, for which, in fact, everything was invented, was to find people who want to devote themselves to the circus. Come here from all over the world, in general, the most, probably, the most famous, the most eminent figures of the circus, and they have such a chance to show themselves - they must not miss ", - the chairman of the festival jury commented. general manager and Artistic Director of the Moscow Nikulin Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard Maxim Nikulin.

Among the guests of honor of the festival is the most famous patroness of the world circus, Princess Stephanie of Monaco. As the president of the European Circus Association, she came with a specific purpose - to choose the brightest artists who will perform at the Monte Carlo festival. The laureates will surprise the Western audience in January next year.

For several days, the participants will compete for the main prize of the international jury - "Golden Elephant". A total of 110 people from 11 countries came to the festival. This year, the organizing committee of the festival established the Audience Choice Award, which can be won by one of 24 participants who received large quantity votes. On the final day of the festival, September 10, a gala performance and a solemn ceremony of awarding the laureates will take place.

All this is spiced with the exoticism of circus traditions from five continents. And regardless of the results of the competition, the artists have already received the main award - the delight of the audience.

The festival has international status and is approved by the world's leading circus figures. Every year the organizing committee receives a large number of applications for participation in the competition from the best young world-class performers.
