Blessed Alipia of Kiev, holy fool for Christ's sake. Instructions and prophecies of the blessed mother Alipia of Goloseevskaya, the Kyiv elder, the holy fool for Christ's sake

Mother Alypia Goloseevskaya prophesied: War will begin against the apostles Peter and Paul. You will lie: there is an arm, there is a leg. This will happen when the corpse is taken out” (from the mausoleum). Mother’s insight was undeniable to everyone who knew her. A few months before the resumption of the Kiev-Pechersk stronghold, she said: “They are already lighting the lamps in the caves.”

However, when she was informed about the opening of the Lavra, she said abruptly: “They opened it, but not to joy.”

The fate of the world is hidden from people.

Who knows the ways of the Lord? He is the One - the Creator of everything created; He has the power to change everything in an instant.

“The Revelation of John the Theologian” makes it clear that human history is also under the control of the Lord. It is not useful for people to know exactly what will happen and where. When the King of kings and Lord of lords appears, we will only have to remain silent before Him.

However, for some ascetics, milestones of historical changes were revealed during their high lives. What will happen first, famine or war, they asked Mother Alipia. “It’s more life-saving for people,” was the answer.

“Don’t leave Kyiv,” mother punished, “there will be famine everywhere, but there is bread in Kyiv.” And the deeper you dive into the life of the Kyiv ascetics of piety, the more convinced you become: there are so many shrines here that in difficult times will nourish you like your daily bread! “The Lord will not allow His people to die; He will keep the faithful on one prosphora,” mother prophesied.
Sometimes she talked about strange objects and incomprehensible to the human mind.

“Once she described to us the whole end of the world,” recalls L.A. Cherednichenko. “She spoke for about an hour, we listened attentively, but everything fell out of my memory, only two or three phrases remained, like a guide in the darkness.

The war will begin against the apostles Peter and Paul, mother said. You will lie: there is an arm, there is a leg. This will happen when the corpse is taken out.”

“States will differ in terms of money,” the old woman revealed another time. This will not be a war, but the execution of peoples for their rotten state.

Dead bodies will lie in mountains, no one will undertake to bury them. Mountains and hills will fall apart and be leveled to the ground. People will run from place to place. There will be many bloodless martyrs who will suffer for the Orthodox Faith.”

The war will begin “against Peter and Paul”, in an allegorical sense: abuse of Christ’s disciples, their teaching. The Day of the Supreme Apostles is celebrated on July 29/12. It would seem that dramatic events should be expected in the summer, but a year before her death, Mother Alipia began to live according to one known number. She called this calendar the Jerusalem calendar.

The prophetic factors of time are becoming denser - the blessed one saw the world in a different scenario.

The attitude of Mother Alipia towards the then Metropolitan of Kyiv Philaret caused particular bewilderment among admirers.

She repeatedly predicted that he would take the temples, that there would be a split. When “Metropolitan” Philaret served in the Church of the Ascension, Mother Alypia loudly denounced him in front of all the people: “Glorious, glorious, but you will die a peasant.”

She told one nun to tell all her friends that there would be a schism and the true church would be desecrated, but “salvation is only in the canonical Orthodox Church.”

Mother Alypia’s special pain was the Chernobyl disaster, which during the year before the tragedy worried her soul and moved her to intense prayer. She repeatedly said that there would be a tragedy.

She called it a fire, said that the land, water, air would be destroyed, that it would happen during Holy Week, that it would happen in the Polesie side. She said that “the atom is coming to Kyiv.” She prayed with all her heart that God would ease the consequences of the tragedy, but it all had to happen.

When the catastrophe occurred, Mother said: “I live for the pain of others.” In difficult days for the people, the Lord sent Mother Alipia to stop the panic, for comfort and salvation from invisible death.

Mother did not bless us to leave, she urged us to turn to God and make the sign of the cross over our food, to eat everything and not be afraid of anything, trusting in the Lord.

Blessed Alypia was born presumably in 1910 in the Penza region into the pious family of Tikhon and Vassa Avdeev. The blessed old woman said that her father was strict, and her mother was very kind, a great hard worker and very neat. Sometimes she would put all sorts of treats in her apron and order her to take them to the poor in their village; my mother gave out especially many treats on holidays. When it was time to study, Agapia was sent to school. Lively, fast, quick-witted, she couldn’t help but give advice to everyone. The girl was transferred to another class, and among the children a year older than her, Agapia was distinguished by her intelligence and intelligence. In 1918, Agapia’s parents were shot. All night the eight-year-old girl herself read the Psalter for the dead. For some time Agapia lived with her uncle, after studying at school for only two years, she went to “wander” to holy places...

During the years of unbelief - she spent 10 years in prison, despite the difficult conditions of detention, she tried to observe fasting and prayed incessantly.

From Maria's memoirs:

– Mother went through a lot during the period of persecution of the Orthodox: she was arrested and put in a common cell... There were many priests in the prison where she was kept. Every night 5-6 people were taken away forever. Finally, only three remained in the cell: one priest, his son and Mother. The priest said to his son: “Let’s serve a memorial service for ourselves, today they will take us away by dawn”... And he said to Matushka: “And today you will leave here alive.” They served a memorial service, father and son buried themselves, and at night they were taken away forever. Mother was left alone: the door in the cell silently opened, the Apostle Peter entered and through the back door led Mother out to the sea. She walked without food or water for 11 days. She climbed steep rocks, broke off, fell, rose, crawled again, tearing her elbows to the bone. But the Lord preserved her. She had deep scars on her arms, which she showed me. Perhaps then Mother visited the Great Elder of Jerusalem, Hieroschemamonk Theodosius, who lived near Novorossiysk in the village of Gorny (formerly the village of Krymskaya). Mother herself said about this: “I visited Theodosius, I saw Theodosius, I know Theodosius.” It is possible that the elder blessed Mother for the great feat of foolishness...

The old woman often recalled her miraculous deliverance, honored the day of remembrance of the Apostles Peter and Paul, and often prayed at the icon of the Apostles...

During the war, Agapia ended up doing forced labor in Germany...

From Martha's memoirs:

“Mother told me that when she was at work in Germany, at night she read the Psalter for women who had children or sick old people at home and led them beyond the barbed wire and they went home safely. Mother herself left even before the end of the war, crossed the front line and went on foot to Kyiv... One day several men caught up with her on the road... She began to earnestly pray to the Mother of God to protect her. Not far away I saw a stack of straw and ran to it to hide from the bandits... She ran to the stack, pressed her back to it, and the Mother of God with tears asked not to leave her.

The bandits ran around the stack, cursing: “Where did she go, she has nowhere to hide!” They stood and left, and Mother looked at herself and saw that she was all light, all her clothes were white, her hands were white... The Mother of God protected, hid from the bandits, dressed her in heavenly light, that’s why they didn’t see her.

Mother was literate, read and wrote well, and knew the entire Psalter by heart.

She once asked me: “What year were you born?”

“1916,” I answered.

- And I’m 6 years older than you.

By the providence of God, for the sake of Christ, the holy fool Agapia was accepted into the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, where she lived until its closure. Archimandrite Kronid, when tonsured into monasticism, gave Agapia a new name - Alypia, and blessed her for the feat of stylite monasticism. The ascetic spent three years in the hollow of an old tree.

“When it was very cold, I went into the corridor to the monks to warm up. Some will pass by, give bread, and others will drive them away... But I was not offended by them,” the blessed old woman later recalled.

Voluntarily bearing the cross of foolishness for Christ's sake, humbly accepting humiliation and insults, courageously enduring hardships, the ascetic acquired humility and meekness, and for this she was awarded great gifts from the Lord: insight and the gift of healing through prayer.

From the memoirs of Inna Alexandrovna:

– My mother and I returned from evacuation to Kyiv. This was in 1947, and they began to go to Father Damian at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra for advice and instructions... Then my mother pointed out to me a thin, slender woman, neatly combed... My mother said that her name is Lipa, she lives in a ravine behind the Lavra fence right under the open sky, spends nights without sleep in unceasing prayer... Lipa had an unusually deep, pure, warm, affectionate, loving look from his light gray eyes... Lipa's spiritual father was the Lavra's governor, Archimandrite Kronid. According to the recollections of Mother Alipia herself: when the service in the church ended, he approached her, gave her crackers and said: “Well, it’s warmed up, eat and go save yourself.” She, obedient to her spiritual father, obediently retreated to a large tree and climbed into the hollow, in which it was only possible to stand half-bent over. When in winter the snow was so thick that it was impossible to get out of the hollow and she did not go to church, Father Kronid himself made his way to her, brought crackers in his robes, and called out: “Aren’t you cold?” He left the offering and his invariable word “save yourself” and went to the Lavra, leaving the ascetic in the care of a long, winter night. It was eerie in the deep ravine, hungry, stray dogs came and howled right under the hollow, the frost shackled the half-bent, motionless body. And only the incessant Jesus Christ consoled, strengthened and warmed.

This continued until 1954, when Lipa’s spiritual father and mentor, Archimandrite Kronid, died...

She loved everyone, pitied her, and was not offended by anyone, although many offended her with their lack of understanding of the heavy cross that she took on her fragile shoulders.

In simple, modest clothes, she was always neat and clean... It still remains a mystery to me: how Lipa managed to maintain her external cleanliness, beauty and attractiveness, without having a roof over her head... Spending three years of nights in the hollow of a large tree, having no food, she never grumbled, did not ask for alms, eating what people themselves gave her...

Father Damian also saw her: “Well, why are you sitting here under the steps, you’re cold, go sleep under Father Andrei’s door”... Both elders lived in the same corridor and the doors of their cells were never closed from visitors... Father Andrei received everyone: he reprimanded the possessed, healed the sick, helped the poor, fed everyone from the Lavra meal... It was to this threshold that Father Damian sent the orphaned child of Father Kronid...

Many years later, I understood the meaning of this blessing: Lipa should have already approached the threshold of the miraculous old man. Everything was still ahead: the revival of a child who had died from intoxication, healing from fatal diseases, the expulsion of demons, extraordinary insight, the action of the grace of the Holy Spirit such that the forces of nature obeyed it, boundless, all-encompassing love for people, both good and evil, selfless generosity... .

What else I noticed is that Father Damian treated Lipa very warmly and caringly, talked to her as an equal, as his employee, apparently, he saw in her a servant of God and his follower.

Time passed, human sins multiplied, black clouds gathered over the Lavra: rumors spread about its closure. Lipa’s behavior became strange - she raised her hands to the sky, screamed loudly in her Mordovian language, fell to her knees and cried... (Mother grieved, foreseeing the imminent closure of the shrine)

A thunderstorm broke out in March 1961: the brightly shining star of the great shrine set immediately. The bells fell silent. The wonderful choir of monks fell silent, prayers were no longer heard in the churches, the doors of the cells were closed, the corridors were empty, the lamps went out. The elders dispersed - some to eternity, others persecuted by the authorities...

After the closure of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Blessed Alypia settled in a small house near the Goloseevskaya Hermitage. Local residents, who knew about the miracles of healing through the prayers of the righteous woman, came to her in an endless stream for prayerful help, advice, and healing.

From Martha's memoirs:

– Mother Alypia observed the fasts very strictly – she did not eat anything during the First and Holy Week of Great Lent, Wednesday and Friday of each week. I didn’t go to bed, I prayed all night. She wore a large bunch of keys on a cord around her neck - a kind of chains.

Their story is interesting: she said that during the war, while in a German camp, she worked at some factory, she said: “I’ll go up to the net at night, cut it and let everyone out, everyone will leave and live, they will remain and no one knew where they were.” gone." And for every person she saved, a small and a large, white and yellow key was added to his neck. Mother wore this heavy bundle around her neck until her death. A thin, strong cord dug into the body, leaving a deep blue scar.

From all sides of our great Motherland, people traveled to this fragile, blessed lamp: archimandrites and abbots of monasteries, monks and laymen, high officials and simple workers, elderly and young, young and children, the sick, the sorrowful and the persecuted. Every day, 50–60 people would come to see my mother. And Mother Alipia received everyone with love, although she saw everyone perfectly well what he brought in himself: faith, love, curiosity or evil. But everyone fit into her heart, she knew what to say and how to tell everyone, who to heal with compote or porridge, and who with ointment or wine. She did not bless her spiritual children to undergo operations, especially abdominal ones.

Mother began to tell me a parable: “Two people are going to church, and towards them a poor man is carrying firewood on a cart. After the rain, the road was washed out, the holes were filled with mud, the donkey stumbled and fell, and the cart with firewood overturned and fell into the mud. The poor man works hard, but cannot do anything himself. One says: “Let’s help him,” and the other replies: “We’ll get our clothes and shoes dirty, and we’ll come to church in dirty clothes, and we’ll be late for the service,” and walked past. And the first one went into the mud, helped the donkey get up, lifted the cart with firewood, helped pull it out of the mud, got all dirty himself, and when he had finished, he followed his friend. He arrives at the church just in time for the service to begin. A friend saw him and asked: “Did you help?”

- Yes, I helped.

- Why are your clothes clean?

The helper looked at his clothes and shoes, and they were clean.

Mother tells me: “Come tomorrow morning, we’ll prepare firewood for the winter.” It rained heavily at night, it was cold, I began to get ready to visit my mother, put on clean clothes and new suede boots. I thought that I would find something to change clothes and shoes from her for work. I came early, but Mother was not at home, the hut and shed were locked... And in the forest it was wet, dirty, I, in my new boots and clean clothes, was carrying branches, stacking them near the hut... And only at 5 o’clock in the evening did she walk away, tired , carries a basket on his shoulders and a sack over his shoulders. Mother asks me: “And did you go to the forest?”

– Why are your boots and clothes clean?

I looked at my feet; my boots and clothes were completely clean. As if I hadn’t walked through mud all day and carried big wet tree branches on my shoulders...

From the memoirs of Anna K.:

“It was an inexhaustible source of miracles and healings that neither life, nor years, nor death could destroy. In the bent, glorious, wonderful creation of God, inexhaustible miraculous power was manifested, poured out on all who came to her with their sorrows and illnesses. No one was inconsolable, did not leave her, and also received spiritual healing. For the first time, a terrible illness brought me to Mother’s house. I couldn’t eat anything... I was all dried out and blackened, and there were two other small children in my arms at the time. Having no strength, I still, with great difficulty, got to Mother’s house, knocked, she immediately opened the door for me, saying with a smile: “Oh, come in, come in, now you’ll eat”... I remember how shrewdly she looked inside me... She put a frying pan in front of me and Maria, crossed the food and made me eat... I ate with Maria. And this was the first miracle Mother performed on me. I ate everything and didn’t feel like I was full. Since then, the blackness from my face began to disappear, I began to eat and gained weight... Mommy invited me to come to her more often and, thank God, I had somewhere to come. You go to the great old lady sick, broken, barely alive, and you run back like a newborn person. Both sorrows and troubles - everything passed by. Truly, He is marvelous in His saints! Many times, with her prayers, Mother prevented the misfortune that was looming over me and my family... Everyone knows that Mommy treated me with an ointment that she herself prepared. Before cooking, she fasted and prayed a lot. I cooked the ointment all night and prayed the rosary. Leaning towards me, she once said in my ear: “You know, the ointment eats up all the cancer cells.” This was said in a whisper and seriously. I thought: “So this has already been tested, you won’t be lost with the ointment.”

How great was the power of the action not of the ointment itself, but of Mother’s prayer acting through the ointment. Out of her modesty, she did not want people to elevate her actions in miraculous healings, and transferred all her power to the action of the ointment, and with a blessing from above, of course, the ointment was healing. When people complained of any pain, she said: “Apply ointment and it will go away.” And it passed... Those who often visited Mother said that she predicted Chernobyl 5 years ago. I visited her 2 weeks before the accident, she looked at the icons and said: “Look how they shine, what a fire!” But what could I see? Two weeks later there was an accident. On this day, Mother was dressed all in black and repeated several times: “We live by the pain of others!”

One day I brought Mommy two icons of the Most Holy Trinity and St. Nicholas of Japan and she said: “I know him, help me, honey, don’t, help the ELEVENTH, no, don’t.” Tears flooded Mommy's face. My premonition predicted something bad was awaiting me on the 11th. She prayed for a long time, asked him and added: “This is a great saint.” And then she added the number 8... The 11th - winter was coming to an end, a thaw had set in, and huge blocks of heavy ice lay on the roofs. My husband was going to work, suddenly, a huge block breaks off from the roof of a huge house and falls in front of my husband at a distance of one step. Just one moment separated him from terrible death.

I visited my sick father in the hospital, and it was already late when I returned home. Right next to my house, someone from the top floor dropped an empty bottle, and it shattered to pieces in front of my very nose, a few centimeters away - in just a moment it’s hard to imagine what would have happened - it happened on the 8th.

From the memoirs of the spiritual daughter of the blessed old woman Alipia Nina:

“A tumor the size of a chicken egg has formed on my chest. I went to the doctor, they did all the necessary tests, which showed that the tumor needed to be urgently removed... Maria and I are going to Matushka. We just went to see her, and Mother shouts: “Don’t give her up to death!” And she didn’t bless me to go to the hospital... Mother prepared an ointment for me. I applied this ointment to my tumor 2 or 3 times and the tumor completely disappeared. More than 10 years have passed since then. I still have certificates and tests confirming that the tumor was malignant.

When I happened to be alone with Mother, especially in the morning, my soul melted from the warmth, caring, affection, love with which she warmed us. How much tenderness and kindness there was in her is difficult to convey in words; only those who felt it themselves can understand it. Mother said: “The Lord will not abandon my people; somewhere there will be a piece of bread for them.”

One day Mother was sitting next to me. An old wise cat, Okhrim, came out into the garden and walked around the edge of the garden, stopping and sniffing the ground. Mother turned to me: “Do you understand what the cat is saying?”

- No, I don’t understand, it’s not given to me.

- And I understand the cat, and the chicken, and all kinds of birds and animals, so Okhrim came and said that the garden was planted well.

This year my mother had a good potato harvest.

Valentina S.E. - the spiritual daughter of Blessed Alipia, more than once witnessed miracles revealed by the Lord through the prayers of the old woman:

- A very pleasant-looking woman came to see Mother... It was a windy day, strong gusts bent the trees, the forest hummed and groaned, swaying and bowing under strong gusts of wind. The woman asked: “Mother, where are my parents?” Mother stood silently, fixing her gaze somewhere upward. The gusts of wind weakened, the trees straightened, and somehow there was complete silence in the forest. Mother continued to stand with her gaze fixed on the sky, and I thought: “What power is there in her prayers, if she begged the Creator to forbid the wind in order to calm and encourage one Christian soul.” The woman realized where her parents were, where there was peace and quiet.

Mother understood the language of birds, chickens, and cats. Several of us were sitting in the garden, and many birds gathered in the trees and on the roof. They chirped, whistled and chirped. Mother spoke to them in a Mordovian language I did not understand. It was clear from the behavior of the birds that they understood their mother’s words. Sitting nearby was the cat Okhrim. Mother addressed the birds in Russian: “Here he sits, but I don’t answer, if you fall into his clutches, fly away.” The birds rose and flew away... For 47 years Mother did not eat meat...

Mother cooked borscht. People came, I sat on the edge. Mother tells me: “Pour some borscht.” I filled 11 plates. 4 more people came, Mother again said to me: “Pour borscht,” and I thought to myself: “Is there enough borscht?” I looked into the cast iron pot, and there was half a pot of borscht. I thought that I hadn’t noticed how Mother got up and topped up the borscht. I poured 4 plates and I think that if more people come, there won’t be enough borscht. Three people came again, and again Mother addressed me: “Pour some borscht.” This time I definitely saw that Mother did not get up from her seat and did not top up the borscht. I go over to pour it, open the cauldron, and there is exactly half of the borscht, as if I hadn’t poured from it - it’s all half. Then I realized that by the grace of God, Mother’s food increased.

I once asked her: “How can I be saved?” She replied: “Lord, have mercy!”

From the memoirs of nun F.

– I met Matushka in 1981. I came to enter the Florovsky Monastery.

For 21 weeks, throughout the fall and winter, my mother was seriously ill. She did not take food, but only drank a little water. After Easter I ate some milk porridge. Before Mother’s illness, she fed people what the people themselves brought. And after her illness, until her death, she began to cook and feed people herself. While preparing food, she was not allowed to talk, so as not to defile the food. I cooked borscht and porridge every day. She always prepared food with prayer.

During my next visit, Mother looked at the icons and asked: “A finger on a hand or a toe? Is it whole or not? Then he says: “Intact.” And when my brother arrived, it turned out that he was sawing wood and touched his finger, but did not touch the bone.

Mother could hear who was calling her from a distance. I became very ill and began to call Mother for help. Mother said to those gathered: “The doctor in Podil is dying,” and she began to pray for me and prayed all night. In the morning I felt better.

She understood the language of animals and birds. A calf came to her and she fed it. One day he came and stood there, and his mother said: “Your head hurts, come on, eat some bread and the pain will stop.” The elk calf ate the bread and went into the forest.

According to eyewitnesses, in the dry summer of 1986, the righteous woman fasted and prayed for eleven days, and then told her spiritual children that she “begged for rain.” After this conversation, on the same day it began to rain heavily.

For her kindness, many loved the blessed old woman, but there were also ill-wishers whom she and her many visitors irritated. A man who lived next door more than once threatened to destroy the home of Elder Alipia. One day he persuaded a tractor driver to come and use a bucket to pick up the logs supporting the wall of a dilapidated house. The old woman prayed with her hands raised to heaven, asking for intercession from St. Nicholas and help. Here is what the spiritual daughter of Blessed Alipia told about this event:

“The tractor driver hooked the cable to a log under the roof and began to drag the tractor to destroy the roof. Matushka began to pray, everyone present began to shout at the tractor driver, exhorting him not to harm Matushka. At this time it started to rain, so hard that it became dark (the surprising thing is that there was not a cloud in the sky that day). The tractor driver was sitting in the tractor cab, waiting out the rain. But the rain did not stop. So, without destroying anything, the tractor driver drove off. But the house remained standing unharmed. Then people, together, repaired what had collapsed due to disrepair, and Mother continued to live in her cell. “As long as I’m alive, the house will not be destroyed, the monks of Pechersk will not allow it, but after death they will demolish it, and nothing will remain,” Mother said (and this is what happened).

She amazed everyone who knew Mother with her gift of healing, the effective power of prayer and obvious insight... I suffered from severe headaches. Mother gave me compote to drink and said: “It will pass after the Ascension.” And so it was. After the Ascension, I stopped suffering from headaches... My father suffered from kidney stone disease, was in the hospital, they wanted to have an operation on him, but he did not agree and left the hospital. When my father and I came to Mother, she saw him and said: “Well done for leaving, otherwise they would have killed him.” I gave him compote to drink, and his pain stopped...

Archpriest Vitaly Medved recalls:

– Before the 1000th anniversary of the baptism of Rus' in the Demievskaya Church, Mother comes up to me and says loudly: “Christ is Risen! Now they won’t torture you.”

Then they didn’t register me in Kyiv, I went to her. She looked at me and said: “Don’t be afraid, go, they’ll register you.” And indeed, I was soon registered.

Mother helped a lot in court cases: through her prayers, the terms of imprisonment were reduced; those wrongly convicted were released. Mother helped a lot with various of the most confusing and incorrectly executed financial accounts. Through her prayers, everything was arranged, settled and resolved successfully.

She treated people with food she herself prepared and strawberries, from which she prepared an ointment. Before the explosion in Chernobyl, she predicted: “People will be gassed.”

From the memoirs of Archpriest Anatoly Gorodinsky:

– We first met Mother Alypia in 1974 in the Church of the Ascension on Demievka. It was impossible not to notice her. On her way to church, she always stopped at the store and bought a lot of bread and rolls. She put all this on the funeral table. And she taught us: “Always have a piece of bread with you.” She lived in a small house, which had one room and a small corridor where her chickens and cats, which she always kept, were placed... People came to Mother for prayer, advice, and blessings. We needed all this too. She often blessed us and gave us a lot of sweets. We objected why we needed so many candies, but she insisted: “This is for the kids.” But we didn’t have children for 10 long years. We believed Mother’s words, now we are a large family. The Lord sent us joy through Mother’s prayers and our requests. Before Chernobyl, Mother was very restless; when she sent everyone home, she said: “Close the doors and windows tightly, there will be a lot of gas.” Many asked what to do: leave or stay in Kyiv. Mother did not bless anyone to leave, and those who did not listen later regretted it, it was even worse there. When asked what to do with food, she said: “Wash, read the Mother of God, cross yourself and eat and you will be healthy.”

From Maria's memoirs:

– The last Sunday before Easter – The Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem for His suffering. Early in the morning, Chernobyl, which my mother had seen back in the winter, broke out. From that day on, she began to give Cahors to everyone who came, but warned: “So that after my death they do not take wine into their mouth.”

Two months before her death, she no longer blessed anyone to stay overnight...

On Saturday (October 29) she sent for me. She told me: “Go to our church, light the candles, but don’t light them, let them be there in the morning. Take the memorial service and run to the Lavra, don’t come to me again.”

On Sunday, October 30, after mass, I came. Mother was very weak. She blessed everyone to go together to Kitaevo: “Pray to the saints and pray for me,” predicting the canonization of 5 saints of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra.

Before, the old woman asked everyone who came to her for forgiveness, asked them to come to her grave and talk about their troubles and illnesses.

From the memoirs of the elder’s spiritual daughter:

“Shortly before her death, Mother had a lot of people. Suddenly she ordered everyone to kneel down and be silent. The doors opened silently and, turning to those who entered, Mother asked: “Why did you come to see me?” Everyone knelt in reverent silence while Mother had a quiet conversation with those who came. Who they were and what news they brought her remained a mystery. She did not open it, but after this visit she began to talk more often about death: “I will die when the first frost comes and the first snow falls. They will take me in a car and bury me in the forest.” On October 29, I was at Mother’s and cried a lot: “Don’t stand and cry, but go and give to all the churches.” And letters flew to all the monasteries asking them to pray for our Mother. The spiritual children even traveled to Elder N. far away in Russia: “... the apple is ripe, it can no longer remain on the tree and must fall,” answered the perspicacious elder, who knew his mother only in spirit.

On October 30 there was the first severe frost, and in the evening large fluffy snow began to fall. When Mother’s things were distributed, they gave me a pillow. And now, when I get a headache, I lie down on this pillow, and the pain stops.

The kingdom of heaven and eternal memory, our dear mother Alipia, for all your labors that you endured in your earthly life for all of us sinners.

From the memoirs of Ermolenko Ekaterina Ivanovna:

“During the funeral service, a strong fragrance emanated from Mother’s body, the hands were warm, and when they were touched, a pleasant fragrance remained on the lips for a long time.

Quite a few testimonies have already been collected about the healing of believers through the prayers of the old woman.

Lyudmila testifies:

“I was baking a biscuit to take to the grave and burned my hand. A large blister formed and my hand hurt badly. At the grave we prayed, had a snack, and when I arrived home, there was nothing on my hand: not a blister, not a trace of burns, and I didn’t feel any pain. I didn’t notice when the healing happened, but only saw the result.

A year later, already in the 2000s, a dense growth the size of a bean formed on the first phalanx of the index finger. This growth made it very difficult to bend my finger. Having already experienced healing from a burn, while kissing the cross on the grave, I asked: “Mother, my finger hurts!” and with this growth she touched the cross.

We prayed... Half an hour later I saw that the growth was no longer there. All that was left was a reddened mark – as a keepsake!”

“A lump the size of a hazelnut formed on the bridge of my nose. It constantly grew and hardened, making it difficult to wear glasses. When Mother Dionisia left, she gave me a flower from the grave of Mother Alipia. I began to pray to her and apply this flower. Soon the lump quietly disappeared. God bless."

Blessed Elder Alipia, pray to God for us!

In the mid-80s, two Kiev residents heard from the elder of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra: “Why did you come to me when such a pillar is burning in Goloseev, in Kyiv!” Mother Alypia belongs to the devotees of piety during the sorrowful period in the history of our fatherland, when the depth of the feat of the faithful lay in their hearts. She bore her cross in silence, but she revealed what we need to know about her difficult life, about her exploits. How many feats she carried out: the feat of prayer - she read the Psalter from childhood, until she was very old, she knew almost all the psalms by heart; feat of wandering - walked through many holy places; feat of confession - 10 years in prison for the Orthodox faith; feat of pillarism - lived in a hollow tree; and, as a crown, the feat of foolishness in Christ. The Spirit of God created a new person in her, and he was strengthened by great gifts: mother had the gift of insight into the thoughts of others, the gift of revelation about what was happening in the distance and about the future, the gift of healing.

Mother Alipia was a native of Mordovia, her parents were Tikhon and Vassa Avdeev. In Holy Baptism she was named Agathia.
At the age of seven she was left an orphan. Such a baby, but she herself read the Psalter for her parents. From then on, her wandering lot began. In the roar of this century, she heard a quiet voice: “Follow the earthly roads to the Heavenly path.” The wanderer Agathia then visited many shrines and saw many saints of God. And she especially fell in love with the shrines of Kyiv - the great Lavra, the third inheritance of the Mother of God on earth. Fierce persecution fell upon our land at this time. Ukraine is called “the breadbasket and the granary of the holy martyrs” in the “Akathist to the Russian Martyrs.” In the south, “near Odessa,” as Alipiya’s mother said, she too had to suffer. She was thrown into a cell with criminals. She told them: "Don't come closer!" – and began to pray fervently. And no one dared to approach her. The guard clung to the peephole and froze: the prisoner was standing, crossing herself, and there was a halo above her head.

Many priests languished in dungeons. They were taken to be tortured without return. There were three left: the old archpriest, his son and Agathia. “In the morning we will not be alive, we will serve a memorial service for ourselves.” “And about me,” mother asked. “You will leave,” the priest consoled.

In that prison there was a torture called "machine". The victim was led into a room with two doors. One led to freedom, the other to the basement, you had to choose the right one.

It is not known whether mother overcame the test or pushed the lucky door, but she found herself free. Mother revered the Apostle Peter as the “releaser from bonds” and especially revered him all her life.

Shortly before the Great Patriotic War, the wanderer Agathia came to the God-saved city of Kyiv. They say that during the occupation she led many people out of the concentration camp. Small, unnoticed, she could penetrate into places where entry would be closed to anyone else, and, apparently, the Apostle Peter himself helped her penetrate into prisons and save people.

During the war, the Pechersk shrine was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church, and Archimandrite Kronid clothed the servant of God Agathia in a small schema with the name Alypius in honor of the first Russian icon painter. All her life she remained committed to the Pechersk Fathers: “I am a Lavra nun.”

The spiritual father blessed mother to labor in the hollow of a tree, following the example of the ancient ascetics. At the base of the nearby caves stood a giant oak tree, in which Mother Alipia henceforth settled. Enduring hunger and cold in a tree cave for the sake of Christ, she extended a living thread to Holy Rus'. She had nothing of her own. Father Kronid came, bringing crackers in his robes. He will pour out at the hollow and leave - he was strict, he did not give any concessions. If it’s difficult, I blessed you to read “Alive in Help” forty times.

“As soon as it’s covered with snow, it’s cold, you can’t touch a tooth,” recalls mother. “You’ll go to the monks, which one will give you some bread, and which one will kick you out.” In severe frosts, schema-hegumen Agapit let her into the senets. “Have you warmed up? Now go save yourself,” and she left. When Archimandrite Kronid rested in the Lord, Schemamonk Damian blessed his mother to move closer to people.

Mother Alypia settled in an earthen cave and lived on alms. And so she was taken to prison again - for refusing to work on Easter. The memory of this prison remained a toothless mouth and a bent back. They released mother when they had already dispersed the Pechersk stronghold. Mother Alypia settled on Demeevka (in a quiet area of Kyiv, where there was an open Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross). The boys teased her and threw stones, but she endured everything and prayed. And then, with a blessing from above, she moved to the Goloseevsky forest. It is located on the outskirts of Kyiv, Lavra monasteries - hermitages - were built here. These places are consecrated with the names of the maiden elder Dositheus, who blessed St. Seraphim, blessed Paisius and Theophilus for monasticism. Here the consoling elder Hieromonk Alexy (Shepelev) labored, as well as Hieroschemamonk Parthenius of Kiev. Mother settled in an abandoned, dilapidated house and lived there until her death, having neither registration nor passport. The police repeatedly tried to “deal with” my mother, but the Lord protected her, and they failed to evict her from Goloseev.

At this time, Mother Alipia went out to serve people in the feat of foolishness. She wore a plush blouse, a child's bonnet or a hat with earflaps, carried a bag of sand on her back, and a large bunch of keys on her chest: the sins of her spiritual children, which mother took upon herself, hanging a new key as a sign of this.

Mother saved her city, prayerfully protected it from destruction, walked around it like a procession of the cross. Before the Chernobyl explosion, she shouted for several days: “Father, there is no need for fire. Father, why fire? Put it out for the sake of the animals, for the sake of the little children.” She poured water on her: “Girls, the earth is burning.” The sun fell to the west and prayed: “Mother of God, deliver us from gas.”

Wasn’t she the righteous person for whose sake the Lord saved Kyiv from the radiation cloud, giving it a different direction? Shortly before the Chernobyl disaster, Mother Alipia began offering Cahors with Pepsi-Cola to the table. The famous Goloseev feasts (plank tables stood on the street, gathering ten to fifteen people every day) became, as it were, protection from the evil in the air. All the food the Goloseevskaya ascetic had was a prayer. For the old woman, it was important who brought the food, whose hands touched the food, through whose heart the offering passed. She didn't accept it from everyone. “You need to level up your spirit,” mother would say, drop to her knees, and sing in her strong voice “I Believe,” “Our Father,” “Have Mercy on Me, O God.” She crosses the table: “Eat,” and she lies down on the bench and rests. The portions were huge, and everything had to be eaten. “As much as you can handle, I can help you,” and people with serious illnesses were healed at her table.

Mother accepted everyone: fornicators, liars, robbers, she only exposed the evil ones, she did not tolerate evil. She grasped even the shadow of a thought. One woman told me. She went to her mother with her “ascetic husband” with the thought: to ask her mother if she should let him go to the monastery, especially since they had no children. She couldn’t ask this question in public, but she thought about it all the time. And so they began to leave, and each mother asked his name. So her husband comes up and calls his name: “Sergius.” And his mother corrected him: “You are not Sergius, but Sergei.” So that woman received an answer to a question she had not asked.

I remember another story: a priest’s wife came to visit my mother, who had dreamed of a monastery all her life and even before her marriage; now that all her children had grown up (and three of them had already become priests), thoughts about the monastery returned to her again. And so she went to Kyiv to ask Mother Alipia about this. When he and his daughter arrived at the Goloseevskaya hermitage and entered the courtyard, they saw Mother Alipia dozing in the courtyard of the house. They began to wait for her to wake up. They waited for a long time, decided to leave, and when they had already approached the gate, the old woman suddenly jumped up, blocked the path for her guests, and in front of the one who was choosing a new path of life for herself, she lowered a long pole onto the gate - this was a silent answer to her questioning: there is no way for her to enter the monastery. Although so many people received a blessing from Mother Alipia to become a monk, the sisters of the Florovsky Monastery took turns spending whole days in her hut, and Mother called them “relatives.”

At this time, Father Roman (Matyushin), everyone’s favorite priest, whose penitential chants we listened to with bated breath, was also asceticizing in the Lavra. Mother, when meeting her dear guest in her hermitage, called him “twice Angel.” A monk is an angelic order, and a singing monk performs the angelic service of singing at the Throne of the Most High. But the enemy of the human race rises up against those who especially zealously serve God, and through people annoys them. Mother Alipia predicted to Father Roman: “You will drink the cup and you will be at the parish again.” And so it happened: having drunk his cup of bitterness, he again left for the Pskov region. It was Hieromonk Roman who served over the coffin of mother the first litany for the repose of her newly departed soul.

Most often, people had no idea that their lightening of their burdens fell on mother. She hugs, kisses, seemingly blesses them, but she takes their illness upon herself. “Do you think I’m making the ointment? I’m crucifying myself for you,” she once admitted. She gave one patient Cahors to drink to heal her soul and body, and while she was drinking, she fell unconscious.

Mother gave predictions in parables, in acts of holy fools, and sometimes explicitly, simply, without allegories - as best for anyone. Once, in the midst of a feast, she sent a nun into a ravine with a candle to read the Psalter. Then it turned out that at that very hour her brother was almost killed. A nun, who had previously labored in the Gornensky monastery, came for advice: should she return? “You will be taller here,” mother did not bless. Now she is the abbess of one of the ancient Russian monasteries. Servant of God Olga, a psychiatrist, came to see my mother for the first time. The hostess showed her where to sit and went out herself. Suddenly they shouted at Olga: “How dare she?” It turns out that she sat in my mother’s place. I got scared and stood up. Returning from the yard, Mother Alipia sternly said: “Why are you standing, sit down where you are told.” Everyone understood that this was mother’s will. Now this servant of God is asceticizing in Jerusalem, in the Gornenskaya monastery. One woman singer came to mother with her fiancé, and all the time while they were sitting at the table, mother pointed at them with her hand and said: “And the girl sings the funeral service for the boy, and the girl sings the funeral service for the boy.” Soon he drowned before her eyes, and she actually sang a dirge for him.

One day, as it were, the cover was removed from my mother, and she became different, not a holy fool - a concentrated, sad person. “A confessor is scary,” mother opened up. “We must pray for him, so that the Lord will give him help in the fight against the demons fighting against him and protect him from all evil, because the sins of the father fall on the child. We must build a spiritual foundation of communication with him.” The Lord reveals to the spiritual father His will for him..."

Like many blessed ones, Mother Alipia was surrounded by animals with whom she talked and pitied them. Mother’s cats and chickens were all somehow sick, tired, frail, with pustules and dry paws. “Why are your animals so sick?” - they once asked mother. - “People live fornication, commit incest, everything is reflected in the creatures of the earth.”

Shortly before her death, Mother Alipia gave birth to twelve kittens. Blind, they lay in a box, then they began to grow up and left one by one. Mother rejoiced every time: “Gone, gone!” Finally she said: “Almost everyone is free.” The last one remained, the strongest, the one who clung to his mother the most. After the death of the old woman, he lay down on her chest, stretched out and died.

A year before her death, Mother Alipia began to live according to one known number. She called this calendar the Jerusalem calendar. “States will differ in money. This will not be a war, but the execution of peoples for their rotten state,” the old woman prophesied. “The Lord will not allow His people to die, He will keep the faithful on one prosphora.” At this time (a year before her death), mother announced: “That’s it, girls, I’m leaving you.” Those are in tears. Mother prepared the table and blessed: “Eat.” I counted those present - there were twelve. “Worthy,” the old woman said with pleasure.

Shortly before her death, Mother Alipia put a candle in a jar of rice and pulled it out into the hallway. Nun Marina entered - the candle flickered in the darkness, this had never happened before. “The light bulb has burned out,” my mother excused herself and blessed: “Read the Psalter for your mother.” - "What with her?". The old woman did not answer. She was talking about herself. “I’m leaving you orphans, others will console you, but you won’t have a mother,” she told her sisters before the end.

On Sunday, October 30, 1988, the Goloseevsky House was especially crowded. Mother sent those who came to the grave of the now glorified saint of Father Alexy (Shepelev): “Go, bow down, the priest is serving there.” Was it not the elder-comforter Goloseevsky himself who gave her parting words on the outcome of her soul?

After the meal, mother lay down. Everyone left, leaving only one married couple to clear the table. Mother handed a candle to the Servant of God Marina with instructions to place it next to the icon of “All Saints” tomorrow: “Just don’t light it until the morning.” She ordered the bread and honey to be placed on the funeral table. "That's it, don't come again." She thought - today, it turned out - never...

At that moment, the late nun Marina, now nun Sergia, ran onto the porch. A few days before, her mother warned her: “Don’t go to Vespers on Sunday.” She was strict about attending services in the monastery, but she didn’t dare disobey the old woman.

Mother Alypia was lying on the board. She was delighted to see Marina: “Wave me a handkerchief, I’m dying!” She thought: allegory. "Read the Psalter." When Marina reached the words: “My King and my God,” mother said: “That’s enough.” At parting, she blessed Marina - she gave an unusually significant blessing. And then the man and woman who were clearing the table looked, and mother was lying lifeless with her face shining with the glory of Heaven. The Lord called His saint from the vale to endless joy. Her death was quiet, peaceful and shameless. The couple got into the car and drove to a pay phone. When they returned, a dead kitten stretched out on the mother’s chest, the same one, the last of the twelve, warm and not cold.

In the year of the millennium of the Baptism of Rus', 1988, the blessed elder schema-nun Alypia departed to the Lord. She once mentioned that she would be buried in the Florovsky Monastery. And so it happened. After the first lithiums, the funeral services were taken to the monastery, where a conciliar funeral service was performed in the church. The burial took place on November 2. “As soon as the first snow falls, bury me.” And, indeed, that day the first snowflakes began to swirl. With the blessing of the abbess of the Florovsky Monastery, Abbess Antonia, the laborious body of the 90-year-old elder Alypia was buried in the Florovsky section of the Forest Cemetery.

After the death of mother, her house in the Goloseevsky forest was demolished, but in its place a wonderful, miraculous spring appeared. Mother’s enemies completely filled up this source and hammered the stake in such a way that it was impossible to pull it out. The nuns of the Florovsky Monastery tried to pull out the stake, but, alas, nothing worked. And suddenly one day the fountain rushed three meters into the air. So Mother Alypia, even after her death, assured her faithful children that she had found favor with the Lord, and “rivers of living water” flowed through prayers to her.

Blessed Elder Alipia (Avdeeva) is one of the saints revealed in the 20th century who supported believers with their prayers during a difficult, godless period. St. Alipia (her name in the world was Agathia) was born in 1905 in the Penza province. Her parents were extremely pious and raised their daughter in the love of God. Since childhood, Agathia’s favorite pastimes were prayer and reading the Psalter. The girl was very taciturn and loved privacy. The revolution of 1917 turned Agathia's life upside down - in 1917, the Red Army soldiers shot her parents, and she was left an orphan. She herself miraculously remained alive, because she was away from home at that time. Blessed Mother Alipia endured a huge number of sorrows and trials. In the 30s, she was in prison for being a believer; during the war she ended up in a German concentration camp. Despite many trials, Saint Alipia's prayer and her love and gratitude to God only intensified.

Orthodox Prayers of Alipia performed miracles during her lifetime

The saint took monasticism in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. There she took upon herself the feat of stylite life: in a huge hollow of a linden tree that grew on the territory of the Lavra, she stood day and night, in cold and hot weather, leaving only in cases of extreme necessity. After the closure of the Lavra in 1961, St. Alipia was again left homeless. After long wanderings, she came to the territory of the destroyed Goloseevsky Monastery in Kyiv, where she settled for the rest of her life. Alipia's prayers became miraculous during her lifetime. Having heard about mother, an endless series of visitors flocked to her, and she accepted everyone, despite her extreme old age. Through the prayers of Alipia, the Lord performed many healings and other miracles. Blessed Mother died on October 30, 1988. The relics of Saint Alipia rest in the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God of the Life-Giving Spring in the Goloseevsky Monastery.

Prayer to Mother Alipia Goloseevskaya relieves sorrows and helps with everyday needs

With so many sorrows did people come to the blessed mother! Alipia prayed for everyone, and the Lord helped everyone through her prayers. Today, as during Alipia’s life, her prayers help to heal from oncology, infertility, hernias, bone diseases, and other serious diseases.

Mother helps in finding work, finding housing, paying off debts and loans, although she herself has been a wanderer and unmercenary all her life. A huge number of healings take place near the shrine with its relics, and all of them are recorded in the temple book. Among other things, Alipia’s prayers lead people to faith, increase their love for God and each other, and find a quick marriage.

The text of a short prayer to Mother Alipia for health and healing from illnesses

Oh, our reverend mother Alipie!

Pour on us the poor, the weak and the humiliated, by your unfailing compassion and mercy, at least a small drop of bounty from the Lord God, accept us into your intercession and intercession, freedom from all troubles and severe diseases, seek forgiveness for our sins and raise us up, the paralytic, with your prayers , do not allow us, unworthy slaves (names), to perish completely, be a refuge of help for us, do not leave us inconsolable, so that we all glorify the all-holy name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

The text of a long prayer to Holy Mother Alipia Goloseevskaya for a happy marriage

Oh, great praise to the Church of Christ, wall and consolation of the city of Kyiv, Venerable Mother Alipie!

We fall to you and we pray to you - be our intercessor to Christ God, vigilant, as we believe that if you beg God, the Lover of Mankind, everything will be given to you from the sea of His goodness. And since God is a lover of mankind, so you, who are begged by us sinners, will not despise our petition, for we ourselves, due to the multitude of our sins, do not have boldness.

Your work, holy one, is to intercede for sinners; God’s work is to have mercy on the desperate. Ask, venerable one, for anyone according to his needs:

In those who are ill, quickly comfort and heal, as now you have done healing in abundance - as the dumb to speak, the blind to see, the bones damaged from the bed of illness to restore. You can ask the Lord for everything, venerable one, if you pray to Him for us.

Make fierce tumors into non-existence. Grant quick healing to those suffering from burns, just as you appeared to a sick youth at night, listening to his mother’s prayer. Moreover, you showed the great miracle of healing to the whole world.

In these difficult days of triumph of lawlessness and untruth, for those offended and unjustly condemned, imprisoned in prison, envy, lies and self-interest for the sake of the persecuted, seek deliverance from slander and misfortune, as the grace to intercede for them has been given to you from the Lord.

Bless and unite good marriages. Give safe permission to childbearing mothers, protecting their children from any harm. Hear the warm prayer of the parents, the sorrow for their weary children, so that their children may pass into the consciousness of truth, escaping the snares of the evil one and find eternal salvation. Accept prayers for the parents of their grieving children, so that through your prayers they may know the light of Christ’s Gospel. Likewise, comfort the childless and give them the fruit of your womb, so that new true Christians may be presented to the Lord with your blessing and maternal upbringing. To those who require your help in consummating a Christian marriage, send them a companion in life, blessed by the Lord, so that through your care they may serve Christ God in the small church in a family union. Most of all, give peace, silence and unfeigned love, so that we may be true disciples of Christ.

To those who have given themselves over to the ailments of drunkenness and drug addiction and those who lack the strength of spirit, leave this soul-destroying lawlessness, give strength of spirit and enlightenment of the mind, as you appeared to a person who accepted death from drunkenness and was healed from this illness by your blessing.

By your prayers, send down to the lonely and helpless the invisible consolation from the Lord and the knowledge of the true love of Christ, so that they may know that our friends - the saints and angels - invisibly watch over us.

Accept the petitions of the poor and suffering and give them unexpected care with your prayers, as if they may have you as a benefactor in their earthly life.

To the cowardly, despairing of their lives, be a quick comforter, just as you saved the wife who, in grief, intended to destroy herself, and the young woman, who was saved from harm in a fall from a height. Moreover, you delivered their souls from the pernicious abyss.

Likewise, we pray to you, venerable one, save you from sudden death, just as you saved the boy unharmed when he received a terrible blow at an early age.

In the teaching of those who arrive, pour out maternal help and give an increase in intelligence, so that in the uneasy course of their teaching they remain without sorrow.

In the many different everyday affairs, troubles and difficulties, give a quick solution and a good ending to these things.

Hear the prayers of those who mourn for those who are erring, who are outside the ark of salvation to the Orthodox Church, so that the All-Good Lord will save them by His destinies and bring them to the knowledge of His truth.

Grant strength and fortitude to the warriors in performing their godly service, may the Lord protect them from all evil.

Instruct monastics in the right to walk the path of the Lord, strengthening them in asceticism and humbly bearing their cross, just as you also struggled for salvation in love for the Lord and His people.

Give the bishops and priests true standing in the Orthodox faith, so that they may shepherd the flock of Christ faithfully and unhypocritically, ruling rightly and walking without stumbling before the Lord.

The ruler and power of our people is wise, so that in union with the Church our country may remain in peace and quiet.

Open for us with your prayers the doors of God's mercy and deliver us from all evil. Grant us to escape the snares of the evil one. Pray, venerable one, to the Merciful Lord for us who repent, that He may forgive us our sins according to the multitude of His goodness. And even to the end, through your prayers, keep us uncondemned, so that, saved by your intercession and help, we will always send glory, praise, thanksgiving and worship to the One God in the Trinity, the Creator of all. Amen.

Mother Alipia - how to ask for help

One could come to the elder with any problem; the doors of her cell were always open to those in need. After her death, and to this day, believers go to the grave of Mother Alipia to ask for help and pray to the saint. Alypia Goloseevskaya performed many miracles, which people still tell each other about. The gift of her insight is so powerful that it is unlikely that similar examples will be found. Many believers have recently been interested in Mother Alipia, how to ask for help from her and why do those in need turn to her? We will tell you about this in this article.

Blessed Alipia: biography

The exact date of birth of Alipia is unknown, it is only said that she was born around 1905. This happened in the Penza region, in the God-obedient Avdeev family. At Orthodox baptism the girl was given name Agafya.

Her mother was a kind person and constantly helped those in need. My father declared himself a faster and ate only crackers and a decoction of straw. These traditions were passed on to little Agafya. Until the end of her life, she observed strict fasting and consoled the burdened and sick.

During the revolution of 1917, the parents were killed. The girl became a wanderer, having nothing, except the cross, she went around many monasteries and only prayed for the salvation of the suffering. I spent the night on the street, eating what I found.

During the time of mass repressions of believers, Agafya was imprisoned, where she spent 10 years. But this did not break her faith in people, and here she constantly prayed for the salvation of her allies. Miraculously, she was freed and returned to her wandering life.

During the Patriotic War, she was captured and escaped. By the will of fate, she was sheltered by someone else's family. In the 20s, Agafya took monastic vows from the mentor of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and accepted pillarism . Every day she climbed into the hollow of a large tree and prayed there, eating only breadcrumbs. She lived like this for 15 years, until the temple was closed.

And again the nun lived here and there until she rented a room on Goloseevskaya Street. Already people came to her here asking for help. They also came to see her at the Ascension Church, of which she became a parishioner. Here my mother spent the last 9 years of her life. The old woman prepared healing ointments and treated the sick with them. Despite such kindness and philanthropy, local authorities constantly persecuted her and tried to demolish her cell.

Miracles of Mother Alipia

Alipia's miraculous gift manifested itself early. Here's what unexplained events archives and records testify:

  • Her release from prison was not planned by anyone, but she herself said that the Apostle Peter appeared and led her through the back door to the sea. She climbed the coastal rocks for 10 days, fell, got up and walked again. Thus, getting out near Novorossiysk.
  • One day, several people caught up with her on the road and told her that they were being pursued by bandits. Mother told them to hide in a haystack, and she herself began to pray for their protection. The bandits walked around the stack, swearing and cursing, but did not find anyone.
  • One woman told how she came to her stricken with an unknown illness. Mother mixed her ointment with prayers and said that she was overeating all the cancer cells. And so it happened. The woman was healed and lived a long life.
  • The most striking thing is Alipia’s prediction of the Chernobyl disaster. Even 5 years before, the old lady spoke about the huge collapse of a nuclear power plant.

According to numerous eyewitness accounts the nun amazed with the gift of healing and the effective power of prayer. Even in court cases, her prayer reduced the sentences of unjustly convicted people.

  • Olga, 34 years old, Krasnodar: “My legs hurt, and my veins had knots. One day I was doing a bandage and touched a nodule, and blood poured out of it. I sat on the floor and tried to stop the bleeding with a cotton swab and prayed to Blessed Alipia. After the prayer, I removed the tampon from the wound, but there was no more blood. The ambulance rang at the door, and the doctors were surprised that such severe venous bleeding went away on its own.”
  • Elena, 52 years old, Rostov:“My husband couldn’t find a job for a long time. Once a friend invited me to go with her to the Forest Cemetery. Mother Alipia: how to ask her for help?

The Kyiv nun is approached with various requests: for healing, for financial solvency, for helping orphans or those who cannot have them. The main thing in any prayer is to maintain pure thoughts and faith. There are only a few unspoken rules of treatment:

  1. When addressing, there is no need to pronounce the words loudly; read the prayer in a whisper or to yourself.
  2. Ask for forgiveness.
  3. It is necessary to pray, if possible, three times a day. But if you come to Mother’s grave, then this will be enough. You can repeat it at home before the image.
  4. If you ask for someone, think about that person, say his name.
  5. After asking, don't forget to say thank you.

Video on how to pray to Alipia

In this video, Father Savely will tell you how to pray to this saint, how to ask for help from Mother Alipia:

  • Collection of answers to your questions

... Many could not understand her strange, fragmentary phrases warning of great trouble: “Underground is burning, grief is coming,” believing that the mother of the nobility did not know such words as “reactor,” “radiation,” “radiation.” It seems, however, that she knew everything perfectly well.

Very few earthly inhabitants reach the narrow gates of close life, where they leave everything earthly and cross the mysterious threshold of Eternity, having learned truly spiritual life, having comprehended the hidden secrets of existence, for, as the Gospel says, “Many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 20). , 16).
Knowing this, nun Alypia worked humbly and patiently all her life, in sorrow and self-abasement. The Lord granted her to know the innermost secret of prayer, pleasing to Him, and mother learned this generous gift experimentally. Living in the flesh on a sinful earth, in spirit she lived in Heaven, and already here she bore within herself the enlightened image of God. Feeling this profound grace, everyone who hoped for healing and admonition came to her with faith in prayerful help. Therefore, despite the desire for solitude, the old woman selflessly took upon herself the difficult feat of fatherly care, understanding how these helpless sheep of Christ’s flock needed endless spiritual support in order not to stray from the true path leading to salvation. She had to be in public all the time, admonishing and instructing them.
The blessed gift that the Lord bestowed on nun Alipia was also the gift of foreseeing future events. Mother left many predictions that are carefully kept by her children, passed on from mouth to mouth. Many of them have already been fulfilled, some are yet to come true.

One of the most important predictions of the blessed one concerned the great disaster that directly affected the Church: the soul-destroying Philaret schism that occurred in 1992. Mother repeatedly publicly exposed the former Primate of our Church, Philaret (Denisenko), who at that time was still the Metropolitan of Kyiv and whose power seemed unshakable. With an iron hand, he led the Church to destruction, but even the pious clergy, for whom the gross violations of the Charter that he committed were no secret, did not dare to think about public condemnation and meekly endured widespread personnel abuses, the all-powerful Evgenia Rodionova and much more.

Mother was severely persecuted for her impartial statements, but she still did not stop denouncing. Thus, the memoirs of many children contain evidence of how the perspicacious old woman reacted to the photograph of Filaret she saw, about whom she immediately categorically said: “He is not ours.” The people next to her, thinking that mother simply did not know the Primate by sight, began to persistently explain to her that this was the Metropolitan, but she repeated again: “He is not ours.” It was useless to argue, and many resigned themselves, not understanding the meaning of her words and perceiving them as one of mother’s oddities. When, four years after her death, the Church was shaken by a crushing schism, everything fell into place. It was clear that mother foresaw this sad event in advance and warned the faithful about it, and in order to reach their hearts, she clothed her protest against the unworthy bishop in a unique, sometimes very shocking form.

She repeated her denunciations repeatedly. The parishioners of the Demievsky Church of the Ascension of the Lord remembered for a long time how one day, during a magnificent bishop’s service in the church, she loudly exclaimed: “Glorious, glorious, but you will die a peasant.” Of course, she was immediately expelled for her insolence. But this did not frighten the ascetic at all, and she continued to denounce the unworthy bishop.

So, according to the recollections of the children, who asked not to indicate their names, when she was shown a magazine in which there was a large photograph of Denisenko, mother grabbed this magazine, pointed two fingers into the eyes of the photograph and raised her voice: “Uh-oh enemy, how many You will bring grief to people, how much evil you will do! The wolf crawled into sheep's clothing! Into the oven, into the oven!” Then she crumpled up the magazine and actually put it in the oven. Those gathered were silent in confusion, not knowing how to react to this. Only one of the women nearby, plucking up courage, timidly asked: “What will happen?” Mother smiled welcomingly and said with indescribable childish joy: “Vladimir will be there, Vladimir!”

Remembering this significant event during the schism, mother’s children, without the slightest doubt or hesitation, followed His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir, whom mother pointed out one and a half years before her death. Their trust in the blessed old woman was not disgraced. And Filaret's defrocking covered himself with indelible shame.

Mother also predicted the coming Chernobyl disaster. Many could not understand her strange, fragmentary phrases warning of great trouble: “Underground is burning, grief is coming,” believing that the mother of the nobility did not know such words as “reactor,” “radiation,” “radiation.” It seems, however, that she knew everything perfectly, for her spirit revealed such heavenly heights, such infernal depths that we will be able to comprehend her words, comprehending their innermost meaning, for many more decades. And it should be remembered that the Institute of Nuclear Research with a permanent reactor, where experiments on splitting the atom, which were popular at that time, were carried out, was located in close proximity to the Goloseevsky forest and it is unlikely that mother remained ignorant of its harmful activities.

She started talking about the fact that “grief is coming” back in the winter, long before the tragedy of April 26. In a subtle dream, she saw how people were thrown into buses and taken out, how dumb cattle died, how fields were covered with deadly dust. It is known that in the early spring of the ever-memorable year she did not give her blessing to her children to plant potatoes and vegetables on their plots. And the day before the accident, I walked down the street and cried out in prayer: “Lord! Have mercy on the babies, have mercy on the people!”

Then, when it was no longer possible to change anything, she took her knapsack and walked around Kyiv in a religious procession, thus begging for its inhabitants and protecting them from the destructive effects of radiation. She strongly advised everyone who came to her that day in a state of great anxiety: “Close the doors and windows tightly, there will be a lot of gas.”

After the Chernobyl disaster, many, in extreme excitement, asked mother whether they needed to leave Kiev, to which she categorically answered: “No, under no circumstances.” Servant of God Raisa, who was meeting with nun Alypia at that time, recalled: “When Chernobyl exploded, we came to her to ask for a blessing: we wanted to leave for Russia. But she didn’t bless. “No, you don’t have to leave, they’ll give you a piece of bread here. They will come here."

When asked what to do with vegetables and fruits that have been exposed to the harmful effects of radiation, she admonished: “Wash well, read the Our Father and the Virgin Mary, cross yourself and eat.” Indeed, those who, with faith and prayer, ate foods contaminated with radiation, turned out to be immune to the harmful effects of radiation. Even in Fearwood, people live and pray over whom the Lord Himself has extended His Right Hand.

The blessed woman’s threatening predictions about the coming war are also passed on from mouth to mouth. At the time when they were made, even the most devoted children of mother could hardly imagine even the hypothetical possibility of such a thing. But everything is changing. Our contemporary reality is so harsh and unpredictable that people have ceased to be surprised by anything. Now it is already so obvious that everything that mother spoke about and that was impossible to even believe in is coming true in our time.

Without using sophisticated phrases, she warned us about globalism, as a result of which “people will run from place to place,” and that “states will differ in money.” And especially mysterious were her statements about the war, the inevitability of which she associated with the widespread decline of morals.

“This will not be a war, but the execution of peoples for their rotten state. Dead bodies will lie in mountains, no one will undertake to bury them. The mountains and hills will fall apart and be leveled to the ground.” One involuntarily recalls the words spoken immediately after the Great Patriotic War by St. Theodosius of the Caucasus, with whom the blessed one had communication, said that the coming war would be much more terrible and bloody than the one experienced.
Speaking about the greed and acquisitiveness that has taken hold of humanity, mother repeatedly emphasized: “Now you are quarreling, fighting over an apartment, breaking up... And the time will come when there will be a lot of empty apartments, and there will be no one to live in them.” It was surprising to hear such revelations from the lips of a homeless wanderer who had not had her own home all her life.

She also predicted the coming persecution of the Church: “There will be many bloodless martyrs who will suffer for the Orthodox Faith.” And everything that was impossible to imagine just a few years ago came true before our eyes, when schismatics seized Orthodox churches, expelled priests, and beat parishioners. But this shameful phenomenon has now acquired a special scope.

The blessed one also specified the dates, linking them with one of the great church holidays: “The war will begin against the apostles Peter and Paul,” she said. True, mother calculated chronology according to her own calendar, which she called the Jerusalem calendar. Sometimes a phrase was added that this would happen when the corpse was taken out,” which obviously meant burial in the Mausoleum on Red Square.

She also warned about the cruelty and senselessness of this bloody war with her characteristic allegory: “You will lie: there is an arm, there is a leg.” How many dead are now scattered in the Donetsk steppes! And the end of the war is still not in sight...
Mother repeatedly warned: “When you drive along Khreshchatyk in Kyiv, pray, because it will fail.” Need I say that after the Maidan this prediction acquired a special, piercing meaning? And if you remember that the land near Khreshchatyk has long been gone (it was raked out during the reconstruction of the square, setting up many fashionable boutiques, hot spots, and bank branches underground), then the feeling of closeness to the underworld is aggravated...

Mother also predicted the coming famine, when the earth would not give its fruits. But she encouraged people: “Don’t leave Kyiv - there will be famine everywhere, but there is bread in Kyiv.”

Mother especially emphasized how important it would be during the years of persecution to have at least a tiny piece of land of her own, and she forbade those who had houses, land, or livestock to sell, pointing out that the farm could still be useful in conditions of survival.
Almost constantly, and several years before her death, the blessed one especially persistently predicted the future revival of the Goloseevsky monastery. The sisters of the Florovsky Monastery clearly remember how she repeatedly said: “Girls, look: there will also be a monastery and services here...”

It was extremely difficult to believe, but already in 1993, in the devastated Goloseevskaya Hermitage, where no stone remained of its former greatness, divine services began. At first they took place on the street, then, when the house church was restored, in the temple. Despite enormous difficulties and labor obediences, night services were held in the monastery, to which we came repeatedly. They served by candlelight, and the grace was indescribable. And in the morning, after a short sleep, the brethren dispersed for obedience. In the same year, on the feast of the Great Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, the Monk Alexy Goloseevsky, to whom the blessed old woman prayed unfailingly, was glorified as a saint.

She sent many of her children to the Florovsky Monastery, blessing them to order a prayer service for the ascetic of piety, not yet glorified in those years, nun Elena. “There is a holy nun there,” she said, “she is buried on the territory of the monastery, pray to her.
So Mother Alypia predicted back in that now distant time that nun Elena would be canonized. And, of course, in this way Mother wanted to hide the power of her own prayers and glorify the saint of God, nun Elena.

Mother did not leave her children in the dark about the day of her death, which she knew about and warned everyone in advance. There are many memories of this. Here is one of them, belonging to nun F.: “In April 1988, I brought Mother the Church calendar, and she asked: “Look what day it will be on October 30.” I looked and said: “Sunday.” She somehow repeated meaningfully: “Sunday.” After her death, we realized that then, in April, Mother revealed to us the day of her death - more than six months before her.” She was buried at the Kiev Forest Cemetery, on the site of the Florovsky Monastery. Without a passport or registration – that also seemed like a miracle...

But the most amazing thing began after the death of the blessed one. There are many documented cases of healing through prayers to her. Repeatedly, people saw an extraordinary radiance around her cross in the evening. One of the inhabitants of the Pochaev Lavra, who wished to remain anonymous, told how he began to vomit at his grave, and many tangled tufts of hair, dried insects and reptiles came out of him, after which he was healed and soon left for Pochaev.

The honorable remains of Mother were raised and transported to Goloseevo on May 18, 2006, where they rest to this day, hidden in the lower reaches of the Life-Giving Source temple.

And where the old lady’s house once stood, near a symbolic grave with a cross, a slender chapel rose up.
Repeatedly on the day of remembrance of the blessed one, people who came to worship witness amazing phenomena: the sun “played”, spreading its rays around, a multi-colored rainbow appeared, a column of fire ascended to the heavens, a thin solar ring, called a “halo” by scientists, encircled the sky. In the morning, when the first funeral service was served at the Life-Giving Spring, people saw a glowing cross in the sky...

All this is vivid evidence of the posthumous glory of the blessed old woman.

The flow of evidence of the blessed one’s undeniable spiritual talent is inexhaustible, just as the love of her grateful children is inexhaustible. Her desire to pour out this love on those around her, to give it entirely, without reserve, to everyone who needs it, attracted people “toiling and burdened” to him. And since “having lit a candle, they do not put it under vessels, but on a candlestick” (Matthew 5:15), the all-generous Lord revealed a significant number of posthumous testimonies, so that his light would shine before all people, and, looking at his good deeds, they tirelessly “They glorified our Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Her faithful admirers, who knew Mother during her lifetime, often say: “Sometimes it seems that Mother did not die at all, that she simply went on one of her wanderings and will definitely return.”

These words so truly reflect the thoughts and experiences of mother’s children that you couldn’t imagine anything better. The bright appearance of the unforgettable old woman was imprinted in their hearts and souls for the rest of their lives. And, remembering to the smallest detail her maternal kindness, which could not be hidden even behind external severity, you realize that it is in such people that the grace of God is fully manifested, which warms the people who flow to them.

    Everything looks completely different now:
And Vera rises from childhood dreams,
And the heart cries sweetly in repentance,
    And Love awakens to life.
The dawn will rise in the pastures of Hope
And the veil of darkness will dissolve.
Will awaken the power of life in the souls of sinners
    Ascetics holy names.
